Warchalking
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Warchalking is a symbol language for sharing knowledge about an open
wireless network.
Inspired by hobo language, it was conceived by a group of friends in
June 2002 and publicised by Matt Jones.
Having found a node, the warchalker draws a special symbol on a nearby
piece of public furniture - a wall, the pavement, the side of a
lamppost. Anyone initiated in the ways of warchalking will recognise
what it means, and get online.
