before i even start i'd like to thank Daniel Bergman (daniel@nz-kassasystem.o.se) for his help.
he emailed me and told me exactly how to do this, so i guess this should really be his essay so
thank him, not me :-)

we hosted the flammable pheces on tripod in the begining, and we always had our pop-up window
disabled. we ran it there for over a year with no word from tripod, so this method won't get
your page taken off tripod (no garuntees though)

now for the essay...

by inserting the line <noscript> and </noscript> you can effectivlly remove tripods javascript
popup box.

if you never want to see popup boxes again, in netscape click on Options, Network Preferences,
and then the Languages tab. uncheck JavaScript and you will never be bothered with them again.

now, the <noscript> </noscript> combo is easy, but you have to make sure you get it in the
right location, or tripod's bot will stick the <script="Javascript"> in before your <noscript>

take a look at the source on our page to see it in action. here's an example header for your
index.html file.

	<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN">
	<html>
	<noscript>
	<head>
	</noscript>

	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
	<title>The Flammable Pheces - Can you taste the waste?</title>
	</head>

now, tripod's bot will stick their javascript source in between the <noscript> and the
</noscript>

there are probably other ways, and a few people have emailed me suggesting stuff, but until now
this is the only way i've found to work.

that's it, don't forget to give Daniel a fat blunt for this one ;-)

latz,
