Poem: "Sourdough Sam" from Whse, Yukon

                Sourdough Sam

I'll tell you a story of Sourdough Sam
and the best group of fellows this side of Siam.

From Taku there is Flashpants a flashy young scamp
he dances a jig called the Sourdough Stamp.

We've got Major S Goodtimes my god is he tall
he's here to make sure a goodtime's had by all.

From the Capital Shack here's Barnacle Bill
sure he looks old but he's not over the hill.
For jigging a fast one and mixing a brew
and dressed like an angle what else can he do.

My friend Roadhouse Robber a gun he can hold
and with it he plundered the Miss Pot of Gold.

And Dennis from Airline was dead on the spot
we missed him but now a pacemaker he's got.

The Kopper King Kaptain he had lots of fun
and during the striptease he showed us some bun.

Jack Strapper came up north to visit again
and since he's been here he's been raising some cain.

Rat river Mary and Lake LaBarge Marge
are two snowshoe dancers but they undercharge.
To get in a backseat with one or the two
will cost you a dollar and part of a snowshoe.

The two boys from the Klondike I've kept till the last
the difference between us is quite a contrast.

One guy really knows how to handle a cue
that fellow's known as Slippery Sternwheeler Stu.

As for me I am Trappers Tenacious Ted
to you all I donate this poem I have read.

For although winners we cannot be all
knowing each other we've all had a ball.

Coming in first we cannot all do
but we all came in first with a great Rendevous.

So now I am finished my story is done
here's to Rendevous and lets all have some fun.
