Understanding Thought-forms

Thoughts are powerful forms of independent human generated energy that exist in our environment.  We receive thoughts and generate thoughts.  There is almost a constant flow of incoming and outgoing thoughts that permeate our reality, every moment of our existence.

Some thoughts are raw elemental energy, and some are well developed, organized, and meticulously planned.  Each one of these thoughts triggers a chemical interaction within our physical body, and somehow affects our reality.  How these random flow of thoughts affect your reality is based on how you process them.

Thought forms are spiritual manifestations of our thoughts.  We are constantly creating thought forms.  Every time we have a thought we create a thought form, and whether or not that thoughtform materializes on the physical plane is up to us.  As the thought form is our creation, we are its God or Goddess.  This is a microcosmic consciously directed example of the ability that we have and use subconsciously to create the reality within which we live.

Manifesting a thought form on the physical plane requires the same action as manifesting anything in your life.  You already manifest things in your life, you are just unaware of the process.  It is our goal to bring to the conscious mind, the subconscious actions you are taking to manifest your current reality.  Link the conscious and subconscious, and train your consciousness to direct your subconscious mind to create the reality you desire.

The subconscious mind has no reasoning ability.  It cannot, and will not differentiate whether or not you need, want, or can benefit from what it creates.  It simply responds to stimuli.  It creates what you tell it to.  If you tell it to create lack, poverty, unhappiness, jealously, betrayal, it will.  If you tell it to create abundance, happiness, loyalty, it will.

The subconscious mind is incapable of discernment, and will not judge right from wrong.  It is the void into which your conscious mind inputs the spark of creativity.  From that connection everything in your world has manifested.

The subconscious mind is your Goddess self, and the conscious mind is your God self.  Your conscious mind is constantly providing your subconscious with material to create.  You are continuously being subjected to stimuli designed to invoke a response from you.  When you watch television, commercials are broadcasted to get you to buy products.  When you go to the store, there are advertisements and specials, impulse items, all designed to get you to purchase something that you may not have intentionally set out to purchase.

Your family members have learned how to interact with you in ways that produces reactions from you to get the results they desire.  Your employer has developed skills that result in your work behavior.  You are constantly at the mercy of your surroundings.  Yet, you alone hold the power over these surroundings.

You choose where to shop, what television programs to watch, or not to watch, who you interact with on a day to day basis, and where you work.  You have created all the relationships in your life, and you are in choice whether to continue to subject yourself to those relationships.  If they are positive or negative, however they affect your life, you have the power to continue, change, or terminate them.

The energy exchange is constant.  You cannot stop the input, or the output.  Even in a meditative, restful state, you are receiving stimuli.  The temperature of the room, the abstract noises of the universe, the posture of your body will all affect you.  The messages you send out and receive will continue.  It is your responsibility as a priest or priestess to monitor this energy, and recognize it’s ebb and flow.  It is your right as a God or Goddess to direct this energy and make it work for you.

Creating Thoughtforms

To create a thought form you first start out with a need.  Then you come up with a solution.  Thinking through the solution manifests the thought form into that realm, thinking it into being.  Then you have to form an emotional connection to the need to create this thought form.  After that your desire to create it will drive you into forming some physical manifestation for the thought form to occupy.

Once you have a physical manifestation you then program the thought form with the four elements.  Earth gives it substance, and establishes a length of time it exists.  Fire gives it a purpose, goal or mission.  Water establishes its ethics, and attachments.  Air narrows its focus and intent.

After establishing all these boundaries, you then breathe life into the thought form, and release to do its work.

The varieties of ways to create a thought form are numerous, and a talented Priestesss will continue to discover new and better ways to accomplish this task. You can incorporate herbs, oils, crystals, statues, talismans, runes, incense, jewelry, potions, photographs, paintings, and the list could go on and on.  But, the technique is the same.

Start with form, foundation.  Give the thoughtform a place to manifest, a physical thing into which the thoughtform can attach itself or manifest.  This can be as simple as a pentagram drawn on a piece of paper, or as elaborate as a hand carved statue.  The amount of work you put into each element, will be directly proportionate to the results of your spell.  When creating the foundation, be sure to speak into being why you are creating it, and what you expect it to do.  Speak to each element, of the properties you wish that element to offer.

Then move to consciousness.  What is the thought forms’ mission, it’s instinctual desire.  What do you wish it to be driven to accomplish, against what odds?  What talents does it need to have?  Feel this desire within yourself, and project it into the thoughtform, you can place a candle on top of your piece of paper, and write the goal or mission on the candle, hold the candle in your hands and empower with your desire.  Or, for the more detailed spell, you can infuse an oil, using Essential Oils with the correct properties to carry your spell into the thoughtform.  Remember to charge the oil with your desire, just as you would the candle.  Then anoint the form with the oil, telling it what you want it to do.

Then move to ethics and attachments.  What are the parameters within which you want this thought form to operate?  I usually say to the best and highest good of all concerned, because I am aware that in my limited consciousness I am not able to foresee all the possible consequences of my actions, and wish to stay within the bounds of “harm none”.  Do you wish this thoughtform to only act at certain times, under certain conditions, towards certain vibrations?  Consider the issue, and think through the ethical decisions and be clear.  Use water, or an appropriate potion to anoint your thoughtform.  Another thing you can do is write all the instructions that you have or will be giving the thought form down in an appropriate ink, and place it under the pentacle or statue, or whatever form you have chosen.

Now we are at focus, intent, skill and intelligence.  Remember this thought form is not capable of thinking in any terms other than those you provide.  You must program the correct intelligence to complete the mission.  It may be that its intelligence can be limited.  You may not need it to think beyond a small, simple scale.  Or you may need it to be able to pick a lock.  Now, if you don’t know how to pick a lock, you certainly can’t give that information to an elemental.  So be aware that you cannot create a thoughtform to do something you are not capable of doing yourself.

To empower it with air, you can give it a metal talisman, with runes or appropriate language written upon it.  If you want to create an elemental that will be effective in healing you may want to carve a caduceus onto it since that is the symbol Medical Professionals use.  Carving, or writing symbols and language is the most appropriate use of air; you can also speak the instructions to the elemental while smudging it with appropriately charged incense, or both.

To complete the spell you want to breathe life into it.  If you were creating a full thoughtform, then you would want to name it.  As you breathe life into it, say something like “from my breath, I give you life, and name you ___________”.

Things to remember about thought forms:

You created it, and you are karmically responsible for anything it does.  You need to preordain a time for it to expire, or care for its upkeep.  Such as honor it for its service by giving it an appropriate gift.  Example, We give Pan a beer at every ritual, because that is what he has told us he likes.

It is irresponsible to leave a thoughtform uncared for, just as it would be to neglect a pet or a child.  Keep up with your magic, and if you no longer have use for a thought form, release it into the west.

Always write down your spells, especially the ones that will carry into an unknown future.  You will be amazed at what you can forget in time.
