DESC: THE "MAGIC T" RESONANCE TUNED WAVEGUIDE AS A SCALAR TRANSLATOR
FROM: JOEL MCCLAIN, AUGUST 4, 1994
REF: "ELECTRONIC AND RADIO ENGINEERING", MCGRAW-HILL, EDITION FOUR,
PUBLISHED 1955
This file concerns using an "old" piece of technology, the "Magic T",
for a "new" application, the controlled creation of scalar energy of
predetermined frequency and amplitude in a directional pattern. For
those who are not familiar with "scalar" energy, briefly, it is that
energy which results when two equal frequency and amplitude signals
with opposing phase are intersected. Conventional electronic theory
holds that the energies "null" or cancel each other, even though
conventional physics holds that energy cannot be destroyed.
When the EM signals intersect, as described above, the M portion of
the EM signal is translated into E, resulting in a pure E signal of
double the frequency and amplitude. Because the E or scalar energy
cannot be measured without a scalar detector, which in not available
"off the shelf", conventional electronics assumes that it does not
exist. Nikola Tesla proved otherwise, as did John Keely, as have
many others since. However, there are characteristics of scalar
energy which have prevented its application.
Scalar energy does not "drop off" ot attenuate as EM does over any
distance, and it is instantaneous, not limited by the velocity of
light. It can be transmitted anywhere, and revectored back into EM
to provide power for conventional electric devives. Knowing this,
Tesla wanted to use scalar energy to give the world wireless electric
power, and to use vectored scalar energy as a "shield" which would
effectively end all wars. His answer was basically, "yeah, sure",
from the vested interests who saw no financial gain in either of the
above goals. Even Tesla's wireless car was seen as an anomoly, and
Tesla was thought to be in league with the devil, a view which was
not opposed by the press of the day.
A scalar translator can be anything from a power extension cord to a
Tesla coil, with the top winding shorted. However, we are literally
surrounded by scalar translators in our homes and offices every day,
and the energies are being focused off in myriad directions, totally
wasted.
This paper describes an early development in radar, called the
Magic T waveguide, and how it can be easily and cheaply used by
experimenters to create scalar fields, or using two of them, to
vector opposing phase scalar fields back into EM. This is not hard
to understand, because in so doing, you are allowing the opposing
signals to "beat" at resonance, which adds the M component which was
stripped out in the Magic T translator.

Scalar translation occurs naturally in free space, so why use a piece
of pipe to do it? We do this so we can peak the resonance based upon
a fixed cavity size, and to direct the energy. Any cavity, of any
size or shape, can be resonated, but fixed length and diameter cavity
resonators allow us to mathematically create predictable translation
devices which are stable in operation.
There are an infinite number of resonant frequencies for any cavity,
but the most power is obtained when the Magic T is operated in the
"dominant mode", which means at the lowest possible frequency, which
effectively "fills" more of the cavity. You can experiment with a
signal generator to find the resonant range of any cavity, and watch
for the highest power coupling, which peaks at resonance, but it
helps to calculate the frequency first, and work from there.
The formulas are quite easy to use, and are based upon the radius (r)
of the waveguide. The Q for the type of resonator is also given, and
you may note that it is much higher than for other types of resonant
circuits.
Wavelength Formula
Type of Cavity Multiplier Q Factor
sphere 2.28r 28,000
cylinder 2.61r 24,000
cube 1.414a 23,000 (a = one side)
The wavelength of the dominant frequency is equal to the multiplier
shown above times the radius, or length, depending upon the type of
cavity. If you use metric measurement, you can convert wavelength
to frequency using the following equation:
wavelength = 300,000,000 divided by frequency.
In other words, a wavelength of 100cm is equal to a frequency of
3000 MHz, and a wavelength of one meter is equal to a frequency of
300 MHz, in the dominant mode. Since these frequencies are outside
the range of most experimenter's test equipment, you may find that
you are not able to use the dominant mode with the cylindrical pipe
that you have available, or you may have to locate suitable diameter
pipe for the frequency of your choice...or, you may wish to first
experiment with audio, with which you can hear both the resonating
of the signal as well as the "null", before trying EM.
In any event, have fun, and please share your results with the rest
of us.
