Part 6:  Summary.
                                 



      In our second printing, we made the prediction that  
   artificially higher oil prices would result in higher  
   prices for almost all other( if not all) consumer needs.

      Again, sadly, this prediction ids true.  Actually ,  
   there is no mysterious or secret knowledge necessary  
   to make this evaluation.  The 1968 documentary  
   entitled : "The  Nation That Runs On Oil" is true.  As  
   oil prices are raised, so everything else must follow.

           Home-heating costs have soared.
           Transportation fuel costs have soared
           These are "up-front"(visible to all) petroleum
           products.
           What about less visible petroleum products ?
            
      Let us look at one of the largest(and most profitable)  
   industries in America:Medicine.

      Here , we quote from the court records dates January  
   18, 1977, U.S. Circuit Court in San Diego, California

             "Every year more than $370,000 Americans
           are killed by cancer.  It is by far the most
           feared of the deadly diseases.  Man has , with
           little success, been looking for a cure to this
           horrible killer for ages.  Much of the  
           research has been sponsored by the
           American Cancer Society, established long
           ago by the Rockefeller family and some of  
           its business friends. Since they were in the
           petroleum and drug businesses they were
           interested in looking for a solution to the  
           cancer threat that involved the use of  
           synthetic drugs.  As it happens , most  
           synthetic drugs have a coal-tar base; that
           is, they are derivatives from petroleum.

           Over the past several decades the American  
           Cancer Society has financed research and  
           directed the vast majority of the cancer  
           research In this country through grants.
           There may or may not have been something
           sinister in all this, but the point if that if you
           wanted money to do cancer research you  
           were most likely to get it by looking in the  
           area which involves the use of coal-tar based
           chemicals and assorted synthetic medicines."

           Most synthetic drugs and vitamins are coal-tar (petroleum)

      Cynics have pointed out that with the billions of  
   dollars flowing into cancer research-that is , cancer  
   research of the "right"kind-there is more money to be  
   made looking for a cur e than actually finding it.

      What the cynics have said about the area of  
   "controlled" medical research--limiting the lions-
   shareof running to the petroleum industry; we too,  
   have found a parallel in ENERGY research.

      Having oil companies build more and more coal-
   hydrogenation plants (modeled after those already  
   developed in others build more G.E. Westinghouse,  
   Globe-Union and others build more and more electric  
   cars; leads one to conclude: "There is more money to  
   be made looking for a cure than is actually finding a  
   cure;

      The energy crisis is not an energy crisis.  The crisis  
   that is making the crazy quilt of new taxes, high  
   subsides, and political manipulation in a financial  
   crisis.  it had its origins , not in the oil field, but in the  
   Treasury Department and in the boardrooms of banks.

      You research the issue,  You be the judge.  If your  
   conclusion are the same as ours.,... then join us in  
   doing something about it.
