_Screaming_in_Digital______________________________Editor's Note_
Welcome to 1994! All the rumors are now beginning to
agree that the new album will be out this year, so we've got
something to look forward to, at the very least. I hope you all
enjoyed the New Year holiday, and wish you the best for the rest
of the year.
As you might notice, a couple entries in this issue are
not credited to people's real names. This isn't a frequent
problem, as nearly 90% of people include their name in subscribe
requests, but there are a few services - America OnLine, aol.com,
is one - which often don't include a real name in e-mail headers.
So, if anybody thinks I might not have their name, or might not
have it right, please e-mail queensryche-owner@pilot.njin.net and
I'll check.

_Neue_Regel_______________________________________News_&_Reviews_
New Album? David <tvos@umcc.umich.edu>
When is the new album suppose to be out? and is there a
name for the new album yet? My girlfriend is on the edge of her
sanity waiting for information and a release date on the album.
I myself enjoy their music, but I'm a Rush deadhead. :>
New Album? Don <blitzer@wybbs.mi.org>
I haven't been here in a while but I heard a rumor that
Queensryche's new album is going to be out sometime in 1994. Is
that true? If so what's the name going to be?
New Album Squrille <c561423@mizzou1.missouri.edu>
In the most recent issue of Metal Edge, there is a
section on what to expect for 1994. Sad news is, the 'Ryche was
in there for a _late_ '94 release. Will someone wake me up when
it's out?
New Album <jaipiper@aol.com>
Tane Pruett - the Penmates gal - says that the band will
be going in the studio _next month_! But the new issue of Metal
Edge says relase is slated for "late" 1994 - guess we might not
see the new one until 1996 at this rate!
{Keep in mind that Metal Edge, like all of us, is
probably just guessing. -sh}
_Speak______________________________________Comments_&_Questions_
Band Awareness Christina <soeryant@egr.msu.edu>
In the last digest Jorge was wondering if any of the band
members knew about the digest. So am I. Would it be possible
for the netters to get responses from the band members through
you, Shag?
{The closest Queensryche has come to having known
e-mail addresses was a Prodigy account that the
fan club used to have. Honestly, I have no means
of direct communication with the band. -sh}
Look-alikes Squrille <c561423@mizzou1.missouri.edu>
Ever notice that Michael looks a little like Jimmy Page?
Or maybe I've had too much egg nog.
{Maybe both. -sh}
Religion and Mindcrime Topher <christopher.white@mccaw.com>
Speaking of Christian metal, I was actually, officially
declared a heretic for defending "Operation: Mindcrime" on
rec.music.christian. Several readers were a bit upset that I
recommended it to all youth pastors (to help understand the
specific emotions of desperation the youth today are feeling).
Oh well, that wasn't the last time I was declared a heretic
there.
Ray Gillian <thecompany@aol.com>
Regarding the discussion of Ray Gillian of Badlands, he
died about three weeks ago at a hospital in New Jersey from a
sudden flu-like illness.
Tour Dates? Kevin <ryche@delphi.com>
Someone, I cannot remember who, was compiling a list of
all Queensryche's tour dates. Has this been done yet?
{It's being done by Hugh, who can be contacted
at <am102@yfn.ysu.edu>, I presume it's currently
under construction. -sh}

Building Empires LD? Christina <soeryant@egr.msu.edu>
Where can I buy or order the LaserDisc of "Building
Empires?"
{The domestic release was by Pioneer - you can
contact their LaserDisc club at 1-800-322-2285.
Also, video stores carrying LaserDiscs may be
able to order it for you. -sh}

Eddie Interviewed? Mark <maw8295@utarlg.uta.edu>
Eddie Jackson must have been interviewed by GFTPM at some
point because in the October 1993 issue he is one of the "60
Guitar Greats" that describes his "dream band." Here's what he
said:
Guitar: Glen Buxton & Michael Bruce (Alice Cooper)
Lead vocal: Brad Delp
Bass: Eddie Jackson, Dennis Dunaway
Drums: Tommy Aldridge, Terry Bozzio
Keys: Brad Maddox (Queensryche sound man)
Orchestra: London Philharmonic with Michael Kamen conducting

The Killing Words Michael <mcph@sparc.ncpa.olemiss.edu>
Regarding the lyrics of 'The Killing Words,' after
repeatedly listening to the Unplugged version of the song, I came
up with the following:
Now the wireless in my hand is ringing,
The distance of our lives keeps spreading.
The pounding - I hear my heart... I'm not listening
Your voice from far away is screaming... It's over.
I may be misremembering a word or two, but I think that that is
basically it. :)
The Killing Words Stephen <ssarasin@nyx.cs.du.edu>
I pondered on the question about the lyrics at the end of
'The Killing Words.' I sat for a while, listening, and
re-winding my CD, trying to make it out... So, here is my shot
at what I believe is being said (or at least, this is or should
be, pretty close...)
Now the bareness in my head is ringing
The distance of our lives keep spreading
The pounding... I hear my heart... I'm not listening
Your voice from far away is screaming... It's over, over
Too late to take a chance again... It's over
Like I said, this is what I hear when I listen to the song -
although the first line (bareness) is sort of difficult to make
out, so I may indeed be off on that. But at least it sort of
makes sense.
The Killing Words Tom <tmurphy@sun490.fdu.edu>
After playing the track a few times, I came up with the
following:
"Now the --- in my head keeps ringing,
the distance of our lives keeps spreading,
the pounding I hear in my head I'm not listening,
we're both so far away it's screaming .. it's over..."
Two parts of the song aren't entirely clear - the "Now the ...
in my head keeps ringing" and the "the pounding ... head I'm not
listening." I tried to make it out the best I could. Hope this
helps.
The Killing Words Mark <maw8295@utarlg.uta.edu>
I think the post-solo lyrics are:
"Now the waters in my hand is ringing
the distance of our lives keeps spreading
the pounding I hear in my heart 'n I'm not listening
your voice from far away is screaming..."
The first line there is real sketchy as it seems kind of muffled
in both the original song and the Unplugged recording, but I
think the rest of it is pretty accurate.
The Killing Words Randy <rcollins@nyx.cs.du.edu>
After playing this about a million times forward and
backward I'm still not certain about this, it is really heard to
make out the lyrics, but I think I have most of it. It may be a
few words off, but this is what I have so far.
mark lyrics
2:46 All the while my head is ringing <- questionable
2:50 The distance of our lives keep spreading
2:54 The pounding I hear is my heart, I'm not listening
2:58 The voice will fall away it's screaming
Try that and let me know. Thanks!
The Killing Words Meagan <mystii@wam.umd.edu>
In reference to the final words of 'The Killing Words,'
I thought they were:
The distance of our lives keeps spreading
The pounding of my head - I'm not listening
The voices I hear keep screaming it's over...
I don't know if those are right, but that's what they sound like
to me and I kind of think they make sense.

Trades Wanted Kevin <ryche@delphi.com>
Wanted: Anyone willing to do trading of Queensryche
memorabilia. I have video boots, audio boots, rarities, and
much, much more. Please e-mail me for my complete list!
Livecrime Charles <crenner@umr.edu>
Periodically people ask where they can buy the
"Livecrime" set, or are looking for just the video or CD from it,
so I thought I'd pass along a bit of info. While checking out
the used CD bins yesterday, I came across the whole set: CD,
video, book, and box. The price was $15.99. It all looked to be
in very good condition. So if you're interested in getting your
grubby hands on it, e-mail me and we can work something out.
Queensryche Candles Kevin <ryche@delphi.com>
I've had a lot of people e-mail me in the past few weeks
concerning the Queensryche candles. Just to let everyone know,
David from TAMU will be back on the net towards the middle of
January. He's going to be the one in charge of taking orders.
We still haven't hit our 48 mark yet. So those of you still
interested, please e-mail me and your message will be passed on.

That's all for now, see you next week, unless they lock
me up for using the writes-on-everything paint markers I got for
Christmas to write Queensryche lyrics on everything!
