Hello again, everyone! My apologies for this issue being
several hours later than most - due to a thunderstorm Friday
evening, I was "live without a net" all weekend. Just my luck.

On Europe's Headbanger's Ball there was this bit about
the "Last Action Hero" soundtrack. They played the Megadeth bit,
which has a video attached. After that they played the 'Jet City
Woman' clip. No 'Real World' video was "available as yet."
        Let's keep our fingers crossed.

        Last Action Hero Jorge <15062998R@servax.fiu.edu>
All of you who have been hesitant to buy the "Last Action
Hero" soundtrack, you're really missing out on something good.
Besides two cheesy songs by Megadeth and Tesla, the whole thing
is good, especially the Queensryche, Alice in Chains, and Cypress
        Hill songs.

        Liking Other Bands Jeremy <apd@math.ufl.edu>
I like Queensryche, Dream Theater, Galactic Cowboys,
Voivod, Mordred, but I just think Rush sounds like pop music with
poor singing. My favorite Rush song is 'Roll the Bones,' and
that is a remake of an old Rush song - I think that the direction
that Rush took in the 80s was a bad turn.

        Liking Other Bands Jorge <15062998R@servax.fiu.edu>
To all these people confessing about how they don't like
Rush, take it easy! There's no unwritten rule stating if you're
a Queensryche fan, you must be a Rush fan! To me rush is
all right, but no big deal. Please, you people sound like you're
        confessing murder or something!
                        {Fans who dislike Rush killed Sister Mary?  -sh}

I would give anything - well almost - to see the Galactic
Cowboys opening for Queensryche. Talk about on heck of a show.
The Cowboys are one of my current favorites and Queensryche, well
you guys probably can guess how I feel about them! I just thought
I would put in my .02!

        Opening Acts Jorge <15062998R@servax.fiu.edu>
Galactic Cowboys was another awesome choice for opening
act. How about Rage Against the Machine?
{Only if they agree to not do any more protests

Back Issues on Disk Don <grendel@jaflrn.linet.org>
For those of us who don't have FTP access, why not put
the back issues on floppy disk for mailing purposes. I know that
I'd like to see all 100 back issues, and I'm sure they'd fit on a
1.44 if you used PKZip? Just a thought.
{There are servers on the net that will retrieve

        Boot or Promo? Brandon <cuz@cs.brandeis.edu>
Don't be too sure "Unplugged and Other Stories" is a
boot. I am trying to remember the name of the promo that came
out at the time of the initial MTV Unplugged show, but I am
pretty sure Della Brown was on it. It is a surprise that the
station is saying what the name of the album is, though.
However, if it is a boot, one has to take the guess that
RIF is a college station, no commercial station would take that
risk. And any DJ with any knowledge probably wouldn't do so
        either.

Yngwie's old vocalists in Queensryche? It could work.
There have been several. Jeff Scott Soto was last heard on
Germany's Axel Rudi Pell "Eternal Prisoner" CD. Mark Boals sang
a few tracks on Maestro Alex Gregory's "Paganini's Last Stand".
Joe Lynn Turner I believe is in Deep Purple. I don't know what
Goran Edman is doing, but before Yngwie he sang half the songs on
John Norum's "Total Control". I hear Yngwie's new singer will be
Mark Vescaro, from Loudness. I think all these guys could step
in for Geoff, except maybe Turner, I think he's not aggressive
enough. Another suggestion is Midnight, ex-Crimson Glory.

        Replacing Geoff Mark <mckinzie@math.wisc.edu>
You youngsters might want to take a listen to Halford's
older material. He was quite capable of some decent ballads back
in the early seventies - the "Sad Wings of Destiny" album is a
must-have for any prog-metal fan. Of course nowadays, Halford,
Dio, Meine, et al have all lost their voices. Let's just be
happy Geoff is still singing well, his voice doesn't crack a
whole lot on tour, and he's fronting a solid band with good
        lyrics.
Why not Diamanda Galas as Queensryche's lead vocalist?
She has Geoff beat on range, would _definitely_ add some edge in
places, and if you want ballads, turn Chris wild - he seems
bursting to sing lead as it is!

        Replacing Geoff Richard <lets2780@stud.let.ruu.nl>
Although I have all of King Diamond's CD's (as well as
those of Mercyful Fate, including the rather OK reunion album), I
would think Mr. Diamond would simply not do in the case of Geoff
having to be replaced. King's singing is not half as excellent,
and the mere fact that he can sing rather high means nothing at
all. I trust you meant your suggestion in jest. I just figured
I'd react like the overly concerned Queensryche aficionado I am.

        Replacing Geoff David <ccoprdr@prism.gatech.edu>
Beyond the fact that he's a little old now, and his
voice is beginning to fail a bit, what about Bruce Dickinson,
        previously of Iron Maiden? :)

        Replacing Geoff Tina <tina.briones@ebay.sun.com>
If Geoff left, I would suggest calling up Tony Martin
from Black Sabbath. He is by far my most favorite vocalist that
Sabbath has ever used. I think his voice is really strong. But
        I don't think it'll ever happen.

        Replacing Geoff Jorge <15062998R@servax.fiu.edu>
I thought that your choice of King Diamond was great.
That would be really different. As for Eddie Vedder, I don't
think so. Nothing against him, but I've been Pearl Jammed out
for now. How about finding Don Dokken from whatever rock he's
been under lately? Nah. Another good choice would be Midnight
from Crimson Glory. On the "Trancendence" album, he sounded a
little too close to Geoff, but on their last album "Strange and
Beautiful," he changed his vocal style, and the results were
        awesome.

        Movie: Mindcrime David <ccoprdr@prism.gatech.edu>
I'm not sure who should play Nicki. I thought Uma
Thurman was perfect for Sister Mary, though. As far as Doctor X
goes, I think there are two good choices. Robert DeNiro (think
about him in Angel Heart), or - half-jokingly - Al Pacino. "Jew
wanna @#$% with me, mane? Kill the senorita. And get da priest
as well, mane." :) As far as Father William goes, you need
someone slick looking. Maybe Bill Clinton or Kevin Costner. :)

        Anarchy-X Spoken Words David <mocko@cirrus.atmos.colostate.edu>
The spoken word section of 'Anarchy-X' is really cool!
For _years_ I haven't been able to pick out what was being said.
However, I'm still not convinced that what was in the FAQ is
complete. Something extra is said (1-2 more sentences) between
"...equality?" and "This country..." Has anyone figured this out
and can it be added to the FAQ?

        Neue Regel Meaning Jason <downsj@csos.orst.edu>
John was close. 'Neue Regel' is German, for 'new rule.'
Geoff also pronounces it wrong, perhaps on purpose - in order to
        hide what language it is?

        Neue Regel Meaning Michael <mmcpher@emoryu1.cc.emory.edu>
Neue Regel is German and translates literally as 'new
rule.' In the context of the song, 'new order' and 'new regime'
        are both apropos.

        Neue Regel Meaning Jonathan <jmosher@linden.msvu.ca>
As you already must have a hundred replies on the meaning
of 'Neue Regel,' here is another. Directly translated from
German, I get 'Neue' = new and 'Regel' = rule.

        Neue Regel Meaning Tina <tina.briones@ebay.sun.com>
A friend of mine that speaks German says that Neue = new
(neue is used like "latest" or "most recent" in fashion), and
Regel = rule, standard, regulation, precept, principle, or law.
So my guess would be the latest (most recent) rule (government).

        Latin Choral Vocals David <mocko@cirrus.atmos.colostate.edu>
Has any enterprising person - one with better ears than
mine - identified in any way what the choral group is singing in
'Suite Sister Mary?' I would be interested in knowing what song
        they are singing.
{This was covered a while back but I forget the
                        answer.  -sh}
