        _Screaming in Digital______________________________Editor's Note_

Hello, all! To those in Canada, Happy Victoria Day. A
quick matter or two. First, my thanks go out to the whoever
mentioned SiD on the Rush list. Several new subscribers, very
cool. Secondly, I apologize for the delays in the t-shirts, the
screen-printer's big expensive computer system didn't have a
simple file-conversion utility, so I had to move the files from
PC to Mac at a friend's house. I intend to place the order this
Wednesday. Of course, that means that if I don't at least know
what you _want_ by Wednesday, it's not ordered. Many thanks to
those who've already told me, and in most cases already sent in
money. :) And now, on with the important stuff!

        LAST ACTION HERO lab_helmts@vesper.emcmt.edu (Terry)
I saw on MTV that Arnie was having a premiere party at
Planet Hollywood for his movie, "Last Action Hero." By any
chance will Arnie have any of the bands off the soundtrack
playing there? (especially Queensryche.) I know loves his heavy
metal and was hoping he might invite some of the bands down.

NEW CD AND TOUR? golcar@homer.bethel.edu (Carol)
Does anybody know when a new Queensryche CD is going to
come out? Does anybody know when a new Queensryche tour will
be happening? I have yet to see them in concert and would love
to see them after everyone's raving concert reviews.

        PROGRESSIVE TOUR tdely@fl51p01.space.honeywell.com (Troy)
I saw some hope/desire to have a progressive metal tour.
A couple of the bands you have mentioned probably wouldn't be
there. Crimson Glory dissolved soon after "Strange and
Beautiful' was released, and they were subsequently dropped by
Atlantic. I know that Jon Drenning and one other former member
(not Midnight) are still together, but they have gone through at
least 2 other names by now, and I have yet to see them play a
show around here. As for Fates Warning, they are down to 3
members. Most notably, Frank Aresti left. When I talked to him
on the "Parallels" tour, he was pretty fed up with touring and
the whole music thing. Too much time away from home, not enough
support from the label, etc. So, Fates Warning is down to a
drummer, singer, and guitarist, and they have a 3-song demo out
that they are using to shop for a new label. It wouldn't
surprise me if ATCO/EW picked them up - Connecticut connection
        with Dream Theater.

        OPENING BANDS golcar@homer.bethel.edu (Carol)
I have only heard a few songs by Dream Theater on the
radio. I considered buying their CD when I went to the local
record store but instead I bought Soul Asylum. They would also
be a vote for an opening band for Queensryche in my book.
Anyone else like Soul Asylum here?
I was surprised when I bought the CD how many songs I
actually knew by them and just never knew they sang them. Their
three most popular songs are "Somebody to Shove", "Black Gold",
and "Runaway Train". They just came out with a cassingle and CD
single for "Runaway Train" with "Black Gold" also listed on the
        CD single.

        PROGAPALOOZA om1ey3@greenwich.ac.uk (Mike)
How about a lineup of Rush, Queensryche, Dream Theater
and Marillion, in no specific order mind. Simply, I queue a week
        for a lineup like that!

        MINDCRIME TABLATURE jlee@weird.miami.fl.us (Jason)
I finally got the Guitar tablature book for "Operation:
Mindcrime" from the fan club. Geez, I'm a little ticked off. In
case you didn't know, it's only a "selection" of the songs, not
all of them. In my opinion they left out some of the great ones.
Also, dunno if anyone noticed this, but check out a
couple of the songs, like 'The Needle Lies.' Is it _just_ me or
whoever did this tabulature did it from the live tape? Not that
the music is too much different, but the lyrics that follow
along - that's definitely from "Livecrime." Stranger and
        stranger.

        DOCTOR BLAIR AGAIN caw@gtech.com (Christopher)
Well, another Dr. Blair Sighting. This one, of all
places, on the Mickey Mouse Club. It was background for a skit
of "Doggie Howser, M.D." Yeh, the skit was a real woof, but I
got a kick out of the intercom.

        FORTUNE mark.badolato@asu.edu (Mark)
Lately Fortune hasn't been doing covers on nights that
they only play one set. Nights that they play 3 sets, they do
lots of covers. We saw them on New Years Eve at Ovations in
Peabody, MA (with Harvey Warfield and 93.7). Since they were
playing 3 sets, they did many covers (including at least 3
        Queensryche and 2 Kansas).
If you haven't seen them for a while, check them out.
Bob's voice is amazing. My friend Jay Franze hired Bob to do the
vocals on his 2nd demo. I've heard two of the songs and Bob
        completely blew me away!

        YTSEJAM ADDRESS? ltx!csaba@rutgers.rutgers.edu (Csaba)
In the last article of the last newsletter there was
mention of an Dream Theater newsletter called Ytsejam. What's
the subscription request email address (and the format of the
request)? My two bits on Dream Theater: Great band, but I don't
like the singer's voice. Geoff on the other hand is simply
        awesome.
{Try ytsejam-request@bnf.com, and in the body of
                        the message put "subscribe ytsejam <name>"  -sh}

        VENI DOMINE pls@shell.com (Pete)
The spelling is as above and you can get it from True
Tunes at 1-800-669-TRUE. They sell Christian based music. They
even sell stuff from a Christian death metal band... go figure.
{Could someone who's heard both tell me whether
Veni Domine sounds _more_ like Queensryche than
                        Sacred Warrior?  -sh}
