File that explains how Limbaugh has taken the place of Jesus Christ in today's society

Christian perspective on Rush Limbaugh
--------------------------------------

Sound Doctrine Herald

Lamentations 4:17 Moreover, our eyes failed, looking in vain for
help; from our towers we watched for a nation that could not save
us.

We are looking for help in the wrong place. And that search
reveals a sign of the death of the church and our spirituality.
Our radio and TV towers are broadcasting a false hope to a dying
nation and church. The very fact we consider Rush Limbaugh to be
a Christian shows we are defeated before we even get started. And
since we no longer let God search our hearts for sin, we search
outside to the nation that we hope will save us. Either through
government programs or self-reliance, we seek relief from our
struggles apart from God.

We, as a proclaiming Christian nation, run to Rush. Why? Because
of our sin. Our Christian religion is self-gratifying. It
fulfills our lust for self-esteem. Our churches are loaded with
self-righteous and haughty worshippers of God. In short, our
religion benefits us. It is Christianity from hell.

This running to Rush is massive. His popularity is well attested
to. Over 3 millions copies of "The Way Things Ought to Be" were
sold. And "See I told You So" has already sold a record breaking
2 million initial release. Rush has over 370,000 subscribing to
his newsletter, and over 20 million weekly listening to his radio
show. That's over 4.5 million a day. He, of course, is supported
by these followers to a tune of $12 to $20 million a year.

Why so much popularity? Because the Christianity in the churches
is not true Christianity. A false church loves its worldly
preachers and will reward them well. These preachers proclaim a
worldly message of empty hope and truth that people love to
listen to. John pointed this out to us long ago.

1 John 4:4-5 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome
them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who
is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak
from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.

They are listened to because they speak from the viewpoint of
this world rather than from a heavenly viewpoint. It really is
that simple.

Why The Church?

Why is the Christian community rushing to Rush? We are rushing to
Rush because we are godless in our Christianity. We find Rush's
books in our Christian bookstores because the Bible is no longer
holy. It has merely become just a book of principles to live by.
A handbook of concepts for living and commandments to live out.
Like any other worldly book with noble concepts, the Bible has
become merely a good book with ink on pages, (2 Corinthians 3:3).
And we falsely think we have God if we live by the good book,
(John 5:39, Acts 19:15).

We find Rush held up in our Christian magazines and interviews
because Jesus is no longer held up in high honor. We hope Rush
will save us. Our trust lies not with the gospel, but in the
American way. He feels good about himself and America and since
we love ourselves and not heaven, we stand up for his message,
(Romans 7:18). Rather than humility and shame being embraced as
the Christian life, we run to the empty peace of the false
proclaimers, (Jeremiah 6:14). All because we love to have our
flesh fed.

We do not how to "carry around in our bodies the death of Jesus"
at all times, (2 Corinthians 4:10). Rush and our Christianity is
so right and put together that we cannot crumble and be weak
before God, (Matthew 21:44). No longer do we understand the
"First Church of the Widow", (Luke 21:1-6). Our works,
righteousness and projects impress us so deeply, that we can't
understand the cross, or see ourselves for what we really are.
This confidence Rush has in self is only the false confidence the
church has lived for years.

Denying Self

Mark 8:34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his
disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny
himself and take up his cross and follow me.

No longer does the church know how to find joy in denying
themselves by the power of the cross. Rather, we serve a Jesus in
our wisdom and power. We have become a nation of idolaters in the
name of the Lord, (Exodus 32:5). Picking up the cross the Holy
Spirit would give each of us is no longer sought after and known,
(John 21:22). We love Rush, because he is like us.

We have become lovers of pleasure, the American way, our country,
ourselves and our form of godliness, (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Money
is no longer hated and despised among Christians. Indeed, we no
longer know how to hate our lives, our mothers, our brothers or
our marriages (Luke 14:26). The cross is a foreign thing to our
minds, hearts and pulpits. Indeed, the only time that denying
self is mentioned in a sermon is if it benefits the church or
self in some way. To preach a Holy Spirit inspired cross in our
churches today is considered unloving and judgemental.

Like Rush, we hate the cross and live for our bellies. No longer
can our Christianity endure the thought of denying ourselves
sports, money, eating, drinking and fun, (2 Timothy 3:4). Rush
reflects perfectly the Christianity around us.

"Rush is known for voluminous $250 dinners of caviar and steak,
often at the end of a charted jet ride to New Orleans, and he
enjoys 'adult beverages'".*

Just look at the eating and drinking that goes on in the church.
It is no wonder Rush is the high priest of American religion. In
fact, his Jesus is a convenient Jesus. He, like the rest of us,
worship a Jesus that is comfortable for us. We give out of our
abundance to make ourselves feel spiritually good. We preach weak
gospels to the homeless because we are more interested in our
good deeds of feeding them than we are in the narrow road. Well,
enjoy your meals and religion now, for someday you will hunger.

Luke 6:25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go
hungry.

The Cross

Until the church repents of all its feasting, sports, eating,
drinking and pizza parties, we will never gain the victory over
evil in the land. The whole reason we elect the officials we do
is because men love their bellies more than the cross of Christ.
The whole reason Rush is held in honor is because our stomachs
are our gods. In other words, we hope he can preserve our way of
life. The American way.

Philippians 3:18-20 For, as I have often told you before and now
say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of
Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their
stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on
earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we
eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Until we too can weep by the power of God with Paul at how men
live in hatred to the cross, we can't even begin to think we are
Christians. Rush is not popular because of his morals. The truth
is that Rush is popular because liberalism has failed to protect
our "way of life." Liberalism is destroying America, so Satan now
offers us Conservatism. As always, Satan keeps offering mankind
one carrot stick after another. For the issue is really not
truth versus lies, or right versus wrong, but about what makes us
happy. We only love a Jesus that will make us happy, warm and
secure, (John 6:26). In the end Conservatism will also fail.

But we really can't blame Rush. His motto of, "I am having more
fun than a human should be allowed to have," was shown to him by
the church many years ago. If we want America to be great, we
must repent of following the carrot stick and pick up a cross.
Until then our faith is only a mockery and a silly little joke.

Today's Christianity

"Limbaugh has not been very vocal about his personal faith on the
air, although he has many Christian fans. Now, at last, he has
gone on record. In an interview published in the
November/December issue of The Door, Limbaugh revealed his
personal beliefs...'Jesus holds the answers to all of the
everyday problems that you face. I am talking about an acceptance
and belief in Jesus, heaven, and God."

This is the Christianity of today. Belief without action. Faith
without obedience. Concepts without a cross. Hollowness without
holiness. Humbleness without the cross. Spirit without Holy
Spirit. Oh, our pulpits, seminars, magazines and radio shows talk
of denying self, righteousness, purity, but have no idea what
they are talking about, (1 Timothy 1:7, Amos 5:14). And as long
as you talk about it you are considered godly. But let the cross
come with specifics and the penalty flag of legalism will be
thrown up in the air.

No one surrenders everything they have for the gospel. Single
Christians do not know how to not look for a mate (1 Corinthians
7:27). The married do not know how to live as though they are not
married, (1 Corinthians 7:29). We just don't now how to let the
dead bury the dead anymore and get on with following the Holy
Spirit. In the church, divorce and remarriage is held up as
something sanctioned by God. Is it any wonder we support Rush? He
is a reflection of us and our religion.

Even the demons believe what Rush believes, (James 2:19). For you
see neither the demons, nor Rush, nor the Church know the power
of Christianity.

"I guess you can deal with your problems on your own without
those beliefs, but it's much, much tougher." (Rush Limbaugh)

No, my friend, it is not "tougher," it is impossible!

We have reduced belief down to opinion, (Jeremiah 23:36). And
because the church has its abundance of false counselors and
Christian self-help books, we too think things go easier with
Jesus. Truly Rush is the high priest of last days Christianity.
For we have a form of godliness but deny its power.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in
the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of
money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous,
without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than
lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its
power. Have nothing to do with them.

You did notice in the above passage we are to have "nothing to
do" with such folks. They are not to be found in our bookstores,
magazines or pews. Of course most of the books in our Christian
books stores shouldn't be there. But that is a whole other
matter.

Family Values

"Rush preaches traditional family values, but he has been
divorced twice, has no children, and rarely goes to church."

We will ignore the hypocrisy and press on just as the church does
today. That is, we will overlook the sin. For did you know to
divorce and remarry is adultery? (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). And we
know where adulterers go - don't we? Like Rush we are hypocrites.
We work church in around our marriages, sports, jobs and family
fun days. Instead of denying ourselves we please ourselves and
others all in the name of Jesus. You and Rush have a very
convenient Jesus. We no longer know what pure joy is in the
church anymore, (James 1:2).

Rush represents the gospel call in the churches today because
being emptied of our wisdom and power by the cross is not sought
after. When he states that he has "talent on loan from God" he
reflects the kind of Christianity lived today. Where we, in and
of ourselves, do moral things for God. Rather than a cross that
puts us to death so that God might act through us, we remain
alive to serve God as we see fit, (Galatians 2:20).

This attitude is the original sin in the garden glorified. For
it is us determining with our talents and wisdom what is good and
evil. And some day it will all to come crashing down on our
heads. If we continue, the wrath of God will flare up against us
even more. Rush is typical of our love of self, good self-esteem
and self-righteousness. He feels good about himself, this country
and so do we!

The church no longer knows how to work out its salvation with
"fear and trembling", (Philippians 2:12). No one, when it comes
to salvation, lives in the fear of God anymore. How can they?
Every preacher we know is up there so secure, so rested and so at
peace with their salvation. Again, the agony and joy of the cross
just is not known anymore.

If the cross were pressed in on everyone's lives today by the
Holy Spirit they would understand that our talents are dung in
God's sight. Indeed, we would see they are dung, (Philippians
3:8).

As it is, we break the command not to rely on our own wisdom and
moral judgments. It matters not if the moral judgment is correct
or not. Rush is correct on a lot of things he observes and
reports. But being correct means nothing. Even Satan will tell
you the world is headed to hell. Goodness, he is correct! But
he's a devil in his correctness.

For example to say that abortion is murder means nothing. Only
when we say "abortion is murder " by the power of God, is it
truth, (1 Corinthians 12:3). Remember, Satan can quote the truth,
too. However, to get the power of God you have to be crucified
with Christ. And most are just not willing to pay the cost.
Indeed, you, and your self-esteem have to go. Anything less than
that is only arrogance setting itself up against a living God. It
is the pride of Satan in our hearts. It is the sin of Adam and
Eve thinking they know right from wrong. Only when the cross is
realized in a man's life can they claim they live the passage
below.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not
on your own understanding. . .

Humor

It is said that the secret of Limbaugh's success is his sense of
humor. And that is true. But Rush learned his humor from the
churches. Just look at the story telling. The jokes. The funny
one liners that entertain us each Sunday. No one shows dead
seriousness from the puplit anymore, (Titus 2:7). Nope, the call
today is for entertaining and good time sermons.

His humor excites and energizes our flesh. Our flesh tingles as
he pokes fun at our leaders. That humor provides us with a heady
rush of self-righteous indignation and justification of our
cause. But such humor is a sin.

Christians are called to show respect to all men. Especially
those in leadership. It matters not whether the leader is worthy
of respect or not.

1 Peter 2:18 Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all
respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also
to those who are harsh.

The reasons for this command are many. One is that the very humor
that pokes fun at the evils in government is the very humor that
will destroy all respect for government. For as men joke about
government and leadership they undermine all respect for
leadership in general. That is one reason why God tells us all
to submit to those in leadership.

Romans 12:21-13:2 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil
with good. Everyone must submit himself to the governing
authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has
established. The authorities that exist have been established by
God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is
rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so
will bring judgment on themselves.

One reason our government is in the mess it is today is because
of humor. The press has bombarded us with funny pictures and
disrespectful photographs of our leaders. Comedians mock our
leaders with their funny scenarios of them. Why you can even buy
grotesque masks of your favorite politician. The effect of this
creates a disdain for all leadership. Understand clearly that
every political joke is a sin. For it mocks that which God has
allowed. It is commentary expressed at the expense of others. It
is a total lack of love and disregard for God's handiwork.

James 3:9-12 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and
with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this
should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from
the same spring? 12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a
grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh
water.

Joking About Satan

You never read in scripture that God made a joke about Satan.
Never will you read a comment in the scriptures that reads, "God
turned to one of the angels and said, "Say, did you hear the one
about Satan and fruit flies?" But we love our political jokes
don't we. Why? Because from the pulpit comes a disrespect for our
adversary Satan. They talk of walking all over him, of spitting
in his eyes, of dancing all over him with glee and laughter. And
if the church can laugh at Satan, they can laugh at other evil
men. However, be warned, it is Satan having the last laugh. For
Satan loves for you to laugh at him. Because he knows God's Word.

2 Peter 2:10-12 This is especially true of those who follow the
corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. Bold
and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial
beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more
powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings
in the presence of the Lord. 12 But these men blaspheme in
matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts,
creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and
like beasts they too will perish.

Note well how following the sinful nature, despising authority
and mocking Satan all go hand in hand. When the church can mock
Satan, it can deride men. No wonder Rush is so popular. Love is
gone from the church and society.

We cannot in one breath say we love Jesus and in the next mock
our leaders. To do such is rebellion against God. Again, every
pastor or church member who makes fun of someone in leadership
only undermines all authority. Even the authority of God's Word.
For as individuals are made fun of, their character is
undermined. It creates an underlying mis-trust for everyone,
including God. That is why we see individuals saying character
doesn't mean anything. Or, what they do in their personal life
doesn't matter . This is happening because this humor undermines
everyone. So as you laugh at others you teach them to laugh at
God. That just as words and character don't mean anything in this
world, it doesn't mean anything in the after-life. Your little
joke or act of humor just demonstrates that God's Word doesn't
really mean anything.

Now this is where Satan gets his jollies. He has us get so
indignant about that fact that liberals don't mean anything they
say, that we will tell jokes about them. And it is our very jokes
that create the problem. All hell loves the laugh of a surprised
self-righteous person entering hell.

Again this humor creates a disrespect for authority in all areas
of life. Even for fatherhood, church leadership and our
government. It demeans all leadership. Just look at the effect
from TV and comedy acts that make fun of the family and fathers.
That ought to tell you that God's Word is true. Make no mistake
about it. Men will be judged for the careless words they have
spoken.

Matthew 12:36 But I tell you that men will have to give account
on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

This humor undermines the sovereignty of God. In short, it mocks
God. If God has allowed a certain leadership to be in power then
He is the only one fit to remove it. God has allowed us to get
the leaders we wanted because we do not really belong to him. He
is merely giving us the King we want, (1 Samuel 8:7). And until
we repent deeply with sorrow from the Holy Spirit we will never
have a good moral government.

If you want to enter heaven then you must ask the Holy Spirit to
put a guard over you mouth, (Psalm 141:3). Not only must you not
tell or laugh at a political joke, you must refrain from casting
a slur against others.

Psalms 15:1-3 A psalm of David. LORD, who may dwell in your
sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? 2 He whose walk is
blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth
from his heart 3 and has no slander on his tongue, who does his
neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,...

Words hold power. With words God created the whole universe. God
spoke and it was done. And we as Christians are to reflect the
power of words. But with all our jokes, humor, slurs and evil
suspicions we destroy respect for words.

Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and
those who love it will eat its fruit.

He Was Right

When it comes to political humor that belittles leaders it
doesn't matter if you are right about an issue or not. Paul knew
what it was to repent of this, and so should we.

Acts 22:30-23:10 The next day, since the commander wanted to find
out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews, he released
him and ordered the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin to
assemble. Then he brought Paul and had him stand before them.
Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers, I
have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this
day." 2 At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing
near Paul to strike him on the mouth. 3 Then Paul said to him,
"God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to
judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law
by commanding that I be struck!" 4 Those who were standing near
Paul said, "You dare to insult God's high priest?" 5 Paul
replied, "Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high
priest; for it is written: 'Do not speak evil about the ruler of
your people.'" 6 Then Paul, knowing that some of them were
Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin,
"My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. I stand on
trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead." 7 When
he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the
Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. 8 (The Sadducees say
that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels
nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.) 9 There was
a great uproar, and some of the teachers of the law who were
Pharisees stood up and argued vigorously. "We find nothing wrong
with this man," they said. "What if a spirit or an angel has
spoken to him?" 10 The dispute became so violent that the
commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them. He
ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by
force and bring him into the barracks.

Paul was right. The leader was a "whitewashed wall" that sinned.
The issue is not whether something is right or wrong. Paul knew
not to speak evil of someone in leadership. How much more should
the church put away its sin of foolish jokes and political
cartoons of our leaders. How much more should you refrain from
telling a friend that nice political joke?

What Paul did was repent and then deal with an issue. And the
issue alone was enough to send the whole place up in an uproar.

It is enough for Christians to speak clearly about an issue. To
state that abortion is murder and those individuals who support
it are murderers is enough. But this is no joke. And when a
Christian rebukes those in leadership it is with fear and
trembling before a Holy God. A Christian dare not open his mouth
to deride a leader unless they know for sure they have the
authority that comes from the Holy Spirit, (Mark 6:18).

Again, what is missing is the cross. A cross that takes our lives
and produces in us a spirit of holy judgment and love. A cross
that sees the closeness of hell and warns. A cross that dies to
self so that others might see the truth. And like Jesus, we are a
people filled with sorrow and weep. We are not a people having
"more  fun  than  a man should be allowed to have," (Isaiah 53:3;
Romans 8:17). Indeed, we as true Christians know which house to
enter into.

Ecclesiastes 7:2-6 It is better to go to a house of mourning
than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of
every man; the living should take this to heart. 3 Sorrow is
better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart. 4
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart
of fools is in the house of pleasure. 5 It is better to heed a
wise man's rebuke than to listen to the song of fools. 6 Like the
crackling of thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of fools.
This too is meaningless.

Once again it must be said that this love of pleasure and fun is
only a reflection of a church on the verge of judgment, (2
Timothy 4:1-3). So like Rush, keep your football, jokes and fun
times. Enjoy them while you can. Because you will have an
eternity in hell to regret them. Laugh now, for you will weep
later.

Luke 6:25 Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and
weep.

Capitalism and Christianity

"We are told by Rush that what has made America great is the
"freedom to compete." To achieve greatness. To succeed. Instead
of worrying about who gets which 'piece of the pie', remember
this: The entrepreneurial free market that America invented
releases human innovation and creates wealth,"*

What made America great, if it ever was great, was humility,
sacrifice and brokenness before a living God. Take Abraham
Lincoln for example. He lost every battle against the South for
many years until one thing happened. He signed the "Emancipation
Proclamation" that freed the slaves. After that the tide finally
turned. For in the beginning all Lincoln was concerned with was
the unity of the country. He like the rest of us were primarily
concerned with the American way of life.

What makes any of us great is being lowly at all times. In short,
the cross in individuals lives. For what made Jesus great? It was
His total surrender and giving of all to God. It was not his
talent, money, pride in country or innovation that made him
great. Instead, it was his emptiness before a living God. His
total dependence on God. What Rush offers, and the church
embraces is the total opposite of the gospel of Jesus. In short,
it is the spirit of the anti-Christ. For his gospel call is not
that of Jesus.

Philippians 2:5-11 Your attitude should be the same as that of
Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider
equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself
nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human
likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled
himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross! 9
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the
name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory
of God the Father.

This marriage of Capitalism and Christianity is an unholy
alliance. Demons love to teach this kind of economic class. For
God can bless no matter what the fiscal plan is of a country. It
is just that God cannot find enough individuals and churches to
give up all, (Luke 14:33). Indeed, the whole idea of Capitalism
is the opposite of God. With God you get to keep nothing for
yourself. Indeed, everything gained is for the single of purpose
of giving it away. Your joy is in giving, not in keeping.

Remember, Jesus made himself "nothing". He who gave up a
universe asks us to give up our small piece of earth. Yet we
can't even give up the kind of cars we drive.

A true Christian does not work hard to get ahead. Indeed, it
never crosses a Christian's mind to lay down the cross so he can
earn more money for his family. For they know a joy that the
world and the worldly know nothing about. It is the joy of hard
work so that one has something to give away.

Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind
of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the
Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to
receive.'"

A Christian works only to be able to give. This is Christian
economics. This is Christianity with a cross. Again, let it be
stated clearly. The first church knew nothing of capitalism. It
only knew a love that came from heaven. It was an economy of
love. But a love that came from heaven. Communisim tried this and
failed. Because they left out the one person who can make it
work.

Acts 4:32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No once
claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared
everything they had.

No wonder we rush to Rush. God requires you give up all from a
heart of love. Whereas Rush, and our pastors, allow us to keep
plenty for ourselves while we give some to our favorite charity.
They allow us to play, laugh, eat , drink and be religious all at
the same time. Theirs is not a Christianity of all. It is not a
Jesus of "every day".

Acts 2:44-46 All the believers were together and had everything
in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to
anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet
together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes
and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

Money

What Rush represents is money. What the church has in it's
"proper place" and has learned to love is money. Just take a look
at the best selling books in your local Christian book store.
This love for money Rush makes no bones about. The question is,
why doesn't the church find this to be repulsive and an
abomination? For what Rush represents, God hates.

Luke 16:14-15 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and
were sneering at Jesus. 15 He said to them, "You are the ones who
justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts.
What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.

Like the Pharisees the church and the Christian next door have
learned how to "justify" their lives and love of money. Until the
church receives wisdom from God on how to find money detestable,
we will never gain the victory over moral decay. For how can we?
When we are the source of the moral decay. Until you learn to
"hate" and "despise" money you will be doomed to the same fate as
the liberal.

Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will
hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one
and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

If you want to wear a button, don't wear one of Rush's. Write to
us and we will send you an "I Hate Money" button. Of course it's
free. Only problem is, you can't be embarassed to wear it. And
your life has to reflect it.

Right now money is winning in our Christian homes, schools,
churches and hearts. We know not a cross that teaches us to
despise money and so cannot possibly win the moral battle,
(Joshua 7:11-12).

Civilian Affairs

The resurgence in God and country is nothing more than civilian
affairs. It is nothing short of idolatry. This new found
confidence in our country is nothing less than sin. And all
because we have lost sight of knowing only the cross in our lives
and gospel calls.

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was
with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Rush involves the church and Christians in things they have no
business in. A true Christian and church has only one concern.
The will and direction of God and losing their lives for him.

2 Timothy 2:4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in
civilian affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer.

Even when a Christian is lead to be involved in a political issue
they have a different agenda in mind and heart. They are not
concerned with the pipe dream of making this a Christian nation.
They are not concerned with making a good moral climate in which
to raise their children. They certainly are not interested in the
economic welfare of America. They are not even concerned with
winning the abortion battle. They are only concerned with God.

Their cause is a higher cause than all the causes out there. For
example, the abortion movement has become a source of idolatry.
We want to win that battle at any cost. Even at the cost of
doctor's lives. Even at the cost of calling other denominations
"brother". We toss doctrine or truth aside in order to win the
cause. Be warned. Jesus was never interested in winning a cause
at the expense of the Truth. For to do that would be to become an
idolater.

No, a true Christian only knows the cross and Jesus crucified. He
does not concern himself with civilian affairs even as he works
with other civilians. After all, America is not our home or
concern. Oh, as a by-product things might improve because we have
loved God with all our hearts, mind and souls -- great! But the
goal is never to have America blessed. It is to have God
glorified. And there is a vast difference between the two.

Hebrews 11:13-16 All these people were still living by faith when
they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only
saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted
that they were aliens and strangers on earth. 14 People who say
such things show that they are looking for a country of their
own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left,
they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were
longing for a better country--a heavenly one. Therefore God is
not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city
for them.

Don't you see the trap of the evil one. As Satan tears things
down with liberalism, he then offers us a form of Christianity
based on love of self, money and fun. Morals without morality.
Conservatism without a cross. Truly the church is just like the
humanist.

You as a Christian might be called to politics, but you would
know this country is not your concern. Indeed, we are strangers
and aliens to this world or we are not Christians, (Hebrews
11:13). Of course the question begs itself. Can one really be a
strong Christian and be elected to office?

Final Outcome

America and what Rush stands for will be destroyed in the future.
And that by God. The point through-out all this is that God wants
you separate so you too will not be destroyed.

Revelation 18:9-20 "When the kings of the earth who committed
adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her
burning, they will weep and mourn over her. 10 Terrified at her
torment, they will stand far off and cry: "'Woe! Woe, O great
city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come!'
11 "The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her
because no one buys their cargoes any more-- 12 cargoes of gold,
silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and
scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every
kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13
cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and
frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of  fine  flour  and  wheat;
cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and bodies and souls of
men. 14 "They will say, 'The fruit you longed for is gone from
you. All your riches and splendor have vanished, never to be
recovered.'
